History

On the 2nd of August 1990, it all started at 98.3 FM. At the time known as the radio frequency of -X-Clusief FM. Two people, known by almost nobody, played House, Mellow, Techno and old-style Techno music for fun.

In the beginning there were only a few broadcasts on Saturday evening and Sunday evening.

We didn’t know if this music would become popular. After a while the station broadcasted almost non-stop. Soon after that, we thought it was time for something new, so we started a live program.

Maurice v.d. Bent hosted the first program and Harry Mulder mixed the music live.

Much to our surprise, many phone calls came in with greetings, requests and more. -X-Clusief FM had become a hype in The Hague, but we wanted to grow and expand.

That meant more transmission power, more broadcasting and finally another frequency. A legal radio station broadcasted on 98.2 FM, so we had to switch to 98.1 FM. From that moment on 98.1 FM has been the frequency of THE HOUSE STATION -X-CLUSIEF FM. 7 days a week the #1 House-Station of The Hague.

We broadcasted live every evening from 22:00 PM – 7:00 AM and every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 21:00 PM until ????.

In May 2003 the Dutch government started a program called ‘Etherflits’ to “clean up” the Dutch FM broadcast band. After being caught several times, we decided to pay more attention to online streams.
